Nominating Committee Volunteer Deadline

Nominating Committee Volunteer Deadline

Date: April 1, 2021 - June 15, 2021

In accordance with the Society’s bylaws, the Board needs three Benefit Members to serve on the Nominating Committee. Members of the Nominating Committee may not be candidates for the Board or otherwise have conflicts of interest as Nominating Committee members.

The Nominating Committee is charged with the responsibility of defining and reviewing the qualifications of candidates for election as a Director. The Nominating Committee shall recommend qualifications to the Board and review the qualifications of any person whose name has been submitted to the Nominating Committee for consideration.

Serving on the Nominating Committee involves participating in a few teleconference calls prior to a board election, and an individual’s time to review and evaluate board candidate applications.

If you are interested in serving on the 2021-2024 Nominating Committee, please send your name, address, phone number, and email address to Diane Muller, Corporate Secretary, by June 15, 2021.

Facts on Aging

Per Sherrie Mcgregor, Ph.D. (PsychCentral), exercise programs do generally produce improvements, often dramatic ones, even among very elderly participants. For example, one researcher reported that 80-year olds and 90-year olds who had completed a 10-week strength-training program showed more than a 100 percent increase in their strength, and significant increases in their walking speed and stair climbing ability.
