Volunteer

Service is one of our most important core principles. Helping others in need is what we are all about. Our Society promotes and encourages member involvement in four national volunteer campaigns each year.

1.  January & February 2017
     Operation Purple Campaign

2.  May 5, 2018
     Join Hands Day

3.  Summer – Fall 2017
National Member Food Drive  &  Food Build

4.  November – December 2017
     Operation Santa’s Elves

Why Do We Volunteer?

While most of us are familiar with some of the most common reasons for volunteering, such as making a difference and helping others, there are many additional reasons and motivations such as:

  • Learning a new skill and gaining experience in a particular skill
  • Spending quality time with your family
  • Teaching your children strong, positive values
  • Meeting new people
  • Changing someone's life
  • Exploring new career options or networking opportunities

Finding YOUR opportunity!

We could never list all of the reasons to volunteer. We all have our own reasons and we all have different skills and abilities to contribute. We hope that you'll use the information we've provided in this section to explore your own goals in volunteering and find an opportunity that matches your needs. And for as many different kinds of volunteers that there are in every community, there are as many different kinds of volunteer projects. You'll want to be sure to find a project or position that matches your interests and helps you meet your service goals.

If our service campaigns are not enough, use the link below to help you find a volunteer opportunity that suits you. This tool can also be used to find opportunities matching our service campaigns.
