Jerry Christensen* and Michaela Franklin* completed a comprehensive course through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA). SCSA is a national organization that educates professionals to work more effectively with their senior clients.

The Working with Older Adults course gives professionals a practical, comprehensive understanding of health, social and financial issues that are important to many older adults, including ethical issues specific to aging. Written by experts, Working with Older Adults is based on key competencies for serving older adults identified by numerous professionals in a variety of areas through a comprehensive job task analysis. The course offers evidence-supported knowledge with many real-world examples, tips, tools and resources. As a result, professionals are uniquely prepared to help older adults navigate the new, complex and changing needs of their later years.

After completion of the course, Jerry Christensen* and Michaela Franklin* went on to take the Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) exam, which is the leading certification for professionals serving seniors, and is a designation awarded to qualified individuals. Earning the CSA certification requires individuals to pass a rigorous exam and to uphold the highest ethical standards for the benefit and protection of the health and welfare of seniors. The Certified Senior Advisor certification program is dually accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The Society of Certified Senior Advisors is committed to maintaining the high standards of ANSI and NCCA accreditation to help ensure the health, welfare and safety of the public. Click here for more detailed information. The CSA certification and education programs are developed through a rigorous practice analysis/research study involving hundreds of professionals who work with the older adults from the academic community, industry practitioners, regulators, business and non-governmental organizations.

Now Jerry* and Michaela* want to pass this valuable information on to you through the Seniors' Research Benefit program and become your Personal Investigator. AND IT'S FREE!!

*Certified Senior Advisors (CSAs) have supplemented their individual professional licenses, credentials and education with knowledge about aging and working with seniors. It is recommended that you verify the validity of any professionals credentials in which you conduct business and be sure you completely understand what those licenses, credentials and education signify. The CSA certification alone does not imply expertise in financial, health or social matters. For more details visit:”

Facts on Aging

Per the Arthritis Foundation, knee replacement surgeries have increased by 188 percent over the last 10 years in Americans aged 45–64. These surgeries are not easy procedures, either. They require weeks of recovery time, and some patients report having residual pain for as long as a year after the surgery.
